Day 1 - A Rough Start....
Best laid plans, as they say...
Last night was hijacked by a last-minute need for my 14 yo to make cupcakes for school today - gotta love that.
Kristi and I aborted our movie night, went to bed late, ate food that was bad for us as we watched a couple ER episodes - we're a bit more than halfway through the 15 seasons.
My 'plan' was wake up at 5, work-out, get on with the day. My REALITY was get up at 6:45, lose my chance to work-out, go grocery shopping, pay some bills, and get ready for a Toastmasters meeting tonight. OK - I also spent too much time on Facebook & Twitter - bad habits that are on the board for improving during this 117 days.
Also on my 'plan' was to outline goals for this 117 days - so I'm going to take my chance now to do that. Luckily, or sadly, they are close to the goals I've had for years and repeatedly been unable to achieve.
In no particular order...
My Speak & Deliver Book
My Win Anyway Book
(granted, only one of these is realistic, not both)
Revamping RichHopkins.com on the Wordpress platform - which I've been trying to do for about two years. This means getting a sizzle reel done, at the very least, and getting some decent graphics and testimonials.
Restarting, for the third time, my podcast.
Restarting my newsletter (and figuring out why I'm getting robosignups right now)
Getting out to service clubs & associations, and actively finding paid speaking.
Marketing myself to Toastmaster Conferences and TLIs.
Creating more videos in general - FB, YouTube
Attracting more keynote coaching clients
Putting on a coaching event, or two
Using the resources I have accumulated - video softward, etc to achieve the above
And, all the while, still be a good husband, dad, and human being.
And lose weight - get down to 175 - so that's 45 lbs in 117 days - 1/3 lb per day. I can do that.
And read some of my books
----
Holy cramoly, I need to stop typing, and start working.
I know, it seems overwhelming. It seems like too much. Probably is. If I can achieve even one of them, I'll be ahead of where I am now. Gotta pick 'em off one by one - except for the two personal goals - human and fitness - which is an everyday effort.
Tomorrow I'll get back to the gym, get back on my eating program, and start making life happen faster. Tonight - Toastmasters - where you never know what can happen.
Go out and #WinAnyway!
